For this project, I wanted to focus on finding a way to convey all the prevalent themes of the article without making a design that felt overbearing to the viewer. To do this, I designed my thumbnail by looking at many symbols for drought, cities, growth, heat, etc. For the final design, I went for a mostly monochromatic color scheme with a splash of color to emphasize the two main focuses of the article: the food growing on the trees and the heat ravaging Arizona.
